MECCAcon 2017

Saturday, September 16, 2017
10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Detroit Public Library  - Main Library

The Midwest Ethnic Convention for Comics and Arts (Mecca), is an annual tradition in the city the breakdown the origin of comic books, their historical background and so much more.

But unlike many “comic cons,” MECCACon is much more than just comic books.  Art has so many different mediums and at MECCACon you will experience them for yourself.  From the international/independent film festival to afrofutururism, science fiction, steampunk, handmade artisans and graffiti … MeccaCon highlights them all!

While comic books are the main focus, MECCACon also features a full international film festival that runs the entire day.  The festival showcases short films primarily, but many feature films have also been added centered around different themes.
