Description
In June of 1996, the Detroit Associated Libraries (Detroit Public Library and Highland Park’s McGregor Public Library) received a $100,000 grant to establish an Internet training center. The grant, awarded by the Library of Michigan from Library Services and Construction Act funds, provided for Internet training for Detroit Public and McGregor librarians, and librarians in southeastern Michigan. It also encouraged public training for and access to the Internet. The Internet Lab -- located in the Main Library at 5201 Woodward Avenue -- was completed in February of 1997. Staff training began immediately. The Lab was opened to the public, June 25, 1997.

Workshops
