An Evening with Bettye LaVette

“A Woman Like Me” Author Presentation & Book signing

Thursday, February 21, 6:00-8:00 p.m.

You are invited to join us on
Thursday, February 21, 6PM
as we welcome two-time Blues Music Award winner, Bettye LaVette to the Main Library for a book signing and discussion about her new book, A Woman Like Me.

Profound yet graceful, LaVette traces the tumultuous path of her life-from teen sensation in '60s Detroit to Grammy-nominated comeback queen in the 21st century - and all the provocative tales in between.  Her personal accounts of her life in A Woman Like Me are delivered in a raw, unapologetic manner that will leave you amazed and wanting more.

Join us as we welcome the acclaimed R&B singer Bettye LaVette to the Detroit Public Library as she discusses her storied career in show business with her stunning new memoir.
